Too expensive for it to smell rottenThis is my second Beauty Bakerie lip whip and I do think it's a beautiful color and consistency. The staying power is there for sure, the only way I was able to remove it was with a cleansing oil. The pictures up on the page are misleading, theirs looks like a cotton candy color...this is more of a brown mauve color. As you can see from my lips, it's less candy-colored. The things I don't love about it is it smells like paint or some sort of chemical, it's not nice. I also don't like how it bleeds through a lip liner (I was wearing a lip liner in the picture and it just bled right over it. Also, it remains tacky for a bit after it dries so if you push your lips together, it will just pull right off. After it's removed there is still a slightly tacky residue feeling and I didn't love that either. It's not a bad product but I wouldn't say it's amazing.Firstly, whilst this isn’t true to the pic colour in the description, it’s a pretty colour nonetheless. I am really pale, and this doesn’t look great on me. It’s a blueish-mauve, whereas the pictures depict more of a pink tone.My husband said i look like a corpse with this on. Fortunately i rarely listen to his opinion.This doesn’t dry to a matte finish (which i prefer) it stays shiny. I did not find this long lasting, like a liquid-to-matte lipstick is. If you don’t leave it long enough to dry, it’s easy to smudge. I do have other Beauty Bakerie Lip Products, some better than others, and their presentation is second to none, beautiful tubes, beautifully boxed, just this colour and finish does nothing for me. I think i could have worn it better with a matte finish.I don’t find the smell offensive. It’s easy to apply with the doe foot applicator, and it’s richly pigmented. One coat is enough for a good wash of colour. I think I’d need to be wearing a full face of makeup in complementing tones to be able to get away with this colour.I would love to have given this 5 stars, and had it been a matte finish and suited me, i would have increased my rating.I snatched this color up immediately because my sibling has recommended the brand on countless occasions! I was surprised to see it on offer because of the brand. At the time of writing this, the other reviewer expressed concerns about the authenticity of the product, but mine seems legit. It has a neutral, inoffensive smell, and the packaging all looked consistent with what I know of the brand (which, admittedly, is not a ton).As to the product itself, it applies opaque using just one coat. The color is a little darker than advertised, but frankly that's a plus for me, as I love the gray-pink vibes. I removed this before eating, so I can't speak to its lasting power. However, it didn't transfer in the time that I was wearing it!Overall, buying directly from the vendor is the best way to ensure a genuine product. If I can determine the authenticity of this listing, I will edit this review. In the meantime, this product is worth using, in my opinion.Edit: after thoroughly inspecting the packaging, I do believe this product is genuine. I have uploaded a bunch of photos so you can see for yourself.I’ll start this off by saying that I’m not usually a fan of wearing lip glosses or lipsticks…depending on the formula I guess. I can’t stand feeling like I have something thick and sticky on my lips. That turned out to be my personal experience with this lipstick…the color is exactly what I was looking for, but this lip product feels more like a thick lipgloss. Some may not be bothered by that, I’m just not a fan at all.Color is gorgeous but it is not smudge proof at all! It went all over my cup and i had to retouchIts more creamy and im used to matte finishes but once again color is amazing and if you like creamy lippies then this is for youI love everything about this gloss except for the scent. It smells like linseed oil or something. I can get passed the scent, but just wanted to make note of that because it is the reason I knocked a star off. As for the color, it is deeper in person. I would describe it as a dark cool tone mauve. The finish ends up being more satin than gloss. Not too shiny. And not sticky at all. Very comfortable to wear. Not transfer proof, but does have some longevity if left alone.The color is much darker than expected. It smells like regular lipstick and I’m not exactly sure how it’s considered “smudge proof”…it smudged instantly. It’s way overpriced in my opinion for it not be a well known brand. The only thing I did like about it was the applicator and packaging.Last time I bought this brand it was QVC but this smells funny and doesn't have the same staying power not happy using because of smell
