This does work. In fact, it works really well with their tubes. I carry 2 brands of tubes, (and now 3 since I have some of theirs) and the other 2 brands do not work well.Plus side- their tubes seem to work pretty well overall, balm goes up and down and the tubes are okay. They are a tiny bit flimsy seeming, but they work. You can just fill the whole thing up and no worries if it goes over, because the tubes sit flush with the top.The tray is nice and sturdy, I really like that because some trays are kind of flimsy.Down... well, if you buy other brands of tubes, they likely will be a pain to use. The problem I have with the other two brands is that they sit low in the tray, so if you accidently pour over it will just go right down the outside of the tube and make a huge mess. I can fill by hand more neatly without this tray.Bottom line- If you are a new maker or just want to try making lip balm, it's a great little kit, I really do recommend it. If you're established in any way, you want to look for a more universal kit.Product is easy to put together and easy to use. Containers work well once filled.This worked ok. I only needed to make 5 lip balms for an order and its pretty hard to keep on with just 5. I put more tubes in to help keep it stable and then just poured 5 of them. Worked out fine. Overall its a good product, could use a stronger plastic to help keep it level and steady but it did its job. If you need to make 50 at once then it should work out betterTakes a little practice to use it properly and to gauge how much lip balm to melt so all the tubes get filled without making a mess but is worth the effort in the long run.This kit is exactly as described and a fun craft to do with kids or adults.I purchased this kit in February 2021 and finally just got around to opening it to start making lip balms for my business. I found that there were no shrinkwrap sleeves in my kit even though it stated that they are included. I emailed the company at [email protected] as stated in one of their listings. The email has bounced several times and no other way to get a hold of them. So for that they lost two stars. Otherwise, the lip balm tubes fit nicely in the try. "Regular" sized tubs would probably be too large for the openings, but if you get their tubes they should fit snug. I have made a couple of dozen lip balms for friends and family and like how the tubes fit in the tray and the scraper works just fine. In the first batch I made the tubes appeared full but then a few minutes later I came back to see that the mixture had settled and they all had big divots in the tops and most of the center sticks were exposed. So I learned to tap it down a bit then top them off and scrap the excess waxy mixture off once they've solidified. I was able to put the try and scrapper on the top wrack of the dishwasher (after scraping off as much of the wax as possible) and they cleaned up just fine (no warping). So, had it not been for the fact that not all of the items was included in the box (and me taking so long to inspect the contents) and the fact that I can't even reach the company, I would have given this rating five stars. Too bad.This is my first venture into making my own lip balm and this kit made it so easy. The tubes fit nicely into the tray and there is a lip around the edge so you can over fill just a bit. The sticker pages printed nicely in my laser printer. I downloaded the template and it was perfect. I am so disappointed in store lip balm, now I can control the ingredients!The concept is great except you are forced to use their overpriced tubes. It seems their holes won't accommodate any other brand of tubes. For me it's a one time use waste of money because I can buy tubes in bulk for way less than they charge.Very good product, but you can only buy the mallards lip balm tube to fit the tray. I have looked on Amazon and other sites and it seems every time you purchase the lip tubes you have to buy the tray. why? I just want the tubes, why make the point that you can only use mallards lip tubes but can’t buy them separately. Very disappointed.This product is very good. The tubes are very good size. And the tray really helps out with when pouring the mixture into the tubes. Makes it very easy to use when using. The scraper is good to get off the extra and I add into sample pots... Very good product for making lip balms.This product is advertised as including the protective shrink wrap. It does NOT. A bit misleading in description, how ever I am pleased with the utensils enclosed.It might just be me, but on initial description, lip balm crafting kit, I thought it would enable you to make some on arrival.
